Bananas! An album protesting about the planned introduction of identity cards for football supporters in the U.K.

"All profits from the sale of this record will go to the Football Supporters Association to help in its campaign against ID Cards"

Sleeve notes by John Duncan, When Saturday Comes. Imagery by the legendary photographer Kevin Cummins.

With the frequent violence at football matches & too many disasters happening in the late 80s (Heysel, Valley Parade & Hillsborough) the British government saw it an ideal moment to crack down on the football fan who they saw as enemy no.1 Fans claimed that the cards would have no impact on the thugs but would instead interfere with the average well spirited fan. Manchester City fanzine Rodney Rodney! & When Saturday Comes came together to publish this protest album to highlight the campaign. The imagery showcased the current light hearted inflatables craze in the terraces, a million miles from the hellish environments the ministers portrayed.
